This painting is part of a series of Botanicals. I have also included other beneficial insects in this collection of expressionistic, textural paintings. I had carved the painting from modeling paste before I painted it. There are metallic gold and blue highlights that shine a bit.
"As an artist, I strive to continually grow and experiment with different techniques and mediums. I have spent most of my adult careers an Creative Director and graphic designer before becoming a full time professional photographer and fine artist. As of 2015, I had decided to work on my painting full time and now sell internationally with representation in Paris, London and Japan. Composition, creative problem solving and working with deadlines became ingrained after three decades as a designer. I also hold a BS degree in Fine & Applied arts from San Diego State University.
